MARCOS AYALA – the man who turned tango into a new human story
Ayala, a European-Argentinian dancer and choreographer, immersed himself in the world of dance from a young age and quickly became the name every tango dancer aspired to be like.
He won the World Tango Championship in 2006 in Tokyo, an achievement that placed him among the greats, but professionals quickly realized that he was an artist who transcended the boundaries of the genre.
Ayala is a storyteller. He takes tango and breathes new life into it. He blends tradition with modern theatre, classical Argentine tango with contemporary artistic flair.
He is precise in every movement down to the smallest detail, but also manages to lead the dancers and the audience to unexpected emotional depths.
Beyond his awards and critical acclaim, Ayala has gained widespread international recognition: his name has become a brand of quality, of a mesmerizing artistic experience, and of choreography that manages to caress and shakes the viewer at the same time.

NEW SHOW (2026) "TANGO, THE GOLDEN YEARS"
Inspired by the Golden Age of tango and reaching toward its deepest origins, this production proposes a scenic journey into the spirit that gave birth to one of Argentina’s most universal cultural languages.
From gritty neighbourhoods to grand ballrooms — from the arrabal to the world — tango emerges as an intense blend of anger, desire, nostalgia, and hope.
Echoing the spirit of “El Choclo,” this performance follows that path: the path of a rhythm that “went out in search of the sky,” mixing worlds, social classes, and geographies, and transforming what was once marginal into art.

Echoing the spirit of “El Choclo,” this performance follows that path: the path of a rhythm that “went out in search of the sky,” mixing worlds, social classes, and geographies, and transforming what was once marginal into art.
The piece evokes the crossings that shaped tango: the popular and the refined, the intimate and the festive, Buenos Aires and Paris, the street and the stage. Through stylized dance couples, movement becomes the central language to tell this story of passions, encounters, and contrasts where sensuality, elegance, and celebration coexist in balance.
Divided into two sections, the performance offers a dynamic and emotional experience capable of connecting with diverse audiences, honouring tango tradition while reaffirming its contemporary scenic power at the same time.
It is a tribute to tango as identity, living memory, and as an energy that continues to beat within every embrace.
