Il Balletto del Sud presents a three-part contemporary dance trilogy dedicated to the modernist ideals of the Bauhaus movement: Wassily B3, Ekphora, and Effetto Lazarus. The choreography is complemented by the virtuosic piano performance of Scipione Sangiovanni.
Beatles Songs: An immersive voyage through body and sound within the universe of the legendary Liverpool band, reimagined in a symphonic arrangement by Luciano Berio. As a global phenomenon of mass communication, the Beatles revolutionized music, fashion, and pop art, leaving an indelible imprint on the cultural landscape of an entire era.
Jonio-Sud-Barocco: Inspired by the initials of Johann Sebastian Bach, this exploration illuminates specific concepts rooted in a particular geographic region and a unique historical and cultural identity. From a contemporary perspective, Baroque is perceived through a lens that underscores the thematic and creative continuities shared by the two artists, bridging past and present.
Selected Reviews:
« Absolutely unconventional and in many ways refined choice of songs. The twenty songs performed allowed all members of
the company to perform as soloists, with peaks of excellence in a general level of great quality. Several interpretations struck us, such as the captivating final choreography on the notes of «Vieni via con me» by Paolo Conte. Well done and congratulations to everyone… »

It is not the first time that the choreographer excites the intellectual curiosity of his audience with witty quotations, which during the evening in Lecce created the right setting for priceless choreographic scenes in which the dancers performed successfully, sometimes individually involved in exciting pas de deux, sometimes creators of particularly effective ensemble moments.
